Mercedes AC Blowing Warm on One Side? Check This First! Warm Driver Side, Cold Passenger Side

In this video, I troubleshoot and fix a very common Mercedes AC problem, when the driver’s side blows warm air while the passenger side blows cold air, even though both sides are set to cool. This happened on our 2010 Mercedes G55 AMG G-Wagon, but this same issue is common on many late 1990s and early 2000s Mercedes models, especially vehicles with dual-zone climate control. At first, I thought the issue might be the blend doors or climate control actuators since the left and right side temperatures are controlled separately. But after thinking it through, I realized that low refrigerant (Freon) can often cause one side to stop cooling properly before the other. So before tearing apart the dash, I decided to start with the easiest and cheapest fix first, checking the AC refrigerant pressures and topping off the Freon if needed. Thankfully, that solved the problem completely. The AC is now blowing ice cold on both sides again, and the whole job took less than 10 minutes using a basic AC manifold gauge set I picked up from Amazon. This is a great reminder to always check the simple things first before diving into major repairs.
