Will UNESCO's Fair Compensation for News guidance be a silver bullet to sustainable journalism?"

A landmark initiative led by UNESCO is underway to ensure that news content is fairly compensated in the age of digital platforms and artificial intelligence. The M20 facilitated the drafting of the UNESCO fair compensation guidance with ALT Advisory and the GIBS Media Leadership Think Tank, including expert input from within and outside the M20 network. This webinar is convened to build awareness around these challenging issues and to encourage contributions to the guidelines, which are open to broader consultation until 30 July 2026.
