Torque of a Couple - A Level Physics
This video introduces torque and explains the torque of a couple for A Level Physics. If you have two equally sized forces that act towards each other but are offset then you have a resulting moment but no resulting force. Because there are two forces we call this the torque of a couple. In order for an object to be both stationary and in rotational equilibrium, the forces acting on it must be equal in size, opposite in direction and acting through the same point.
