TOUR EM ITATIM-BAHIA

Itatim is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Bahia, located in the Recôncavo Sul region, known as "Pedra Aguda" (from the Tupi-Guarani Ita + tim) due to its geological formation. Founded in 1989 and emancipated in 1990, the city, with approximately 16,000 inhabitants, stands out for its economic growth and natural beauty. Location: It is approximately 218 km from Salvador, with easy access via BR-116, and is a city with great tourism potential, especially for climbing and ecotourism, with the highlight being the 150-meter-high Monte da Pedra. History: The region was inhabited by Cariri and Sabujá Indians before colonization and the formation of quilombos (maroon settlements). Economy: It has shown remarkable economic growth, with one of the best GDP performances in the region in recent years. Emancipation: The city celebrates its anniversary on June 14th, having separated from Santa Terezinha.
