An interest in weapons and the history of armed fighting comes in many different forms, and not everyone looks at these things the same way. Perhaps you appreciate the intricacies of different designs, or the technical side of martial arts, or the aesthetics and "coolness factor" of weapons, real or fictional. They do of course have a dark origin, which should not be glorified or glossed over entirely.
