Langtang Valley Trek in 6 Days | Complete Route Guide & My Experience

Starting from 3rd Feb, 2026, me with my team, total of 5 started our Langtang Valley Trek from Kathmandu with a comfortable drive to Sherpagaon. We left our office early in the morning. From office because this trek was sponsored by our office, Himalayan Masters Adventure Company. We had our breakfast between route, and had lunch at Dhunche. Then, drived almost to Sherpagaon. From where our car left us, with just 45 minutes to 1 hour's trek, we reached Sherpagaon. We visited around the village, had our food, and played playing cards. Like that, our 1st day was over. 2nd Day of Langtang Valley Trek, 4th Feb, we woke up to excellent view, freshened up, had our breakfast at our teahouse, and started trekking to today's destination, Langtang Village. We stopped at Lama Hotel for some rest and snacks, until now the route was comfortable enough. But the real challenge began hereafter. Our plan was to reach Ghodatabela for lunch and Langtang Village for overnight stay. But how much we walked, we could never reach Ghodatable. The route is almost completely uphill, so we could only reach Thyangsyapu today. There is abundent wildlife around here. So, keep your eyes and ears sharp. 3rd day was the most awaited day of our trek, as we will reach final destination, Kyanjin Gompa, of our trek. We woke up, had our breakfast, left some of our belongings that we didn't need forward at the teahouse, and started walking towards Langtang Village (our lunch place for today). It was comparatively easier, somewhat flat route along the Langtang Khola, but same like before, exhausting. Finally, after reaching Kyanjin Gompa, we headed straight to dining hall for the warmth of furnace as here it was relatively cold. We got to share our trekking experience and all with other trekkers there. We rested, has our food, and of course, did our daily ritual (playing cards). Since we made a little bit noise, we were told to stop it....haha. It was memorable moment. Now you are in significant altitude, your body needs to acclamatize, for which, you might loose sleep. I suggest you take some medicine if you feel uncomfortable. Next day, day 4, I was a little unwell, so instead of going hike, I decided to take rest and explore nearby. After exploration and a little bit of bickering with Prakash Sir, we returned mid-way to Langtang Lirung Glacier. Sorry for that. After returning, we had our lunch, we already had breakfast before. And finally bid goodbye to Kyanjin Gompa and traced our way back to Langtang Village. Hats down to our teahouse, Langtang Flavour Guest House for providing amazing food, best in entire trek. On day 5, we has breakfast of our choice, and continued our trek to Bamboo. The same way, because which I wanted to give up before, now became easy, as it was all the way down. We stopped at Lama Hotel for lunch, and continued towards Bamboo via Rimche. We reached Bamboo by evening, and thankfully got good rooms to sleep. Had a glass of celebratory local brew alcohol, wooo....was amazing. Finally, on day 6, last day of our trek, we had our breakfast and headed towards Syabrubesi. We though it was a short walk, and then catch our car, and drive back to Kathmandu. But of course, again, after Domen, Syabrubesi felt same like Ghodatable, it was way far. Walking motorable road after Domen was really challenging. However, after all the challenges, we reached Syabrubesi, caught our car, hugged our driver, and literally said, "Dai! Please take me back home". Like this, we completed our 6 days of Langtang Valley Trek. Langtang Valley Trek Itinerary: Day 1: Kathmandu to Sherpagaon Day 2: Sherpagaon to Thyangsyapu Day 3: Thyangsyapu to Kyanjin Gompa Day 4: Explore Kyanjin Gompa and Trek Back to Langtang Village Day 5: Langtang Village to Bamboo Day 6: Trek from Bamboo to Syabrubesi and Drive to Kathmandu It is said that trek changes you. It makes you realize. Which I felt was true. During the trek, some moments were yeah....and some were nay. It taught me to push myself, even though the conditions were not as I hoped for. Even though I wanted to give up, we think of others, and that encourages to push above our limit. Each moment is precious. Whether its good or bad, we need to learn to cherish each one of them. Although, situations were challenging, sometime wanted to cry, but now i think like I could get habitual to those things. It was my time, the time that I invested on myself, on my experience, on knowing who I was and what my limits were. Had a really great time. Like I said, I might go again. #peace #langtangvalleytrek #langtang #langtangvalley #mountains #nepal #adventure #lvt #fun
