Kate Wolf and Don Lange - Rock Salt and Nails

This is from the album "Looking Back at You" released in 1994 with Kate singing the song by Utah Phillips, 'Rock Salt and Nails'. The songs are made from Kate's performances made during 1977 and 1979. She was not well known out of her circle of influence in California at her death in 1986. She often sang in coffee shops and small local venues. Even though she was not famous at her death, she is now one of the most popular woman vocalists in her genre. There is an annual music festival in her honor and she has lead the way for many of our female vocalists today. Nanci Griffith, Emmylou Harris, and Gillian Welch among others credit her as a major influence on them. Kate Wolf will not be forgotten.
