Geopolitics and Religion in the 21st Century
We are leaving Globalization 1.0 and entering Globalization 2.0. Covid-19 has been the historian’s convenient chapter break. What does this mean for the U.S.-China relationship, the U.S.-Russia relationship, the U.S.-Europe relationship, and others? Join FPRI for the 25th Annual Templeton Lecture on Religion and World Affairs with bestselling author Robert D. Kaplan. Kaplan will discuss how geopolitics, technology, climate change, urbanization, and alienation will drive religion and belief in the 21st century. The Templeton Lecture on Religion and World Affairs was established in 1996 with a gift from the late John M. Templeton, Jr., M.D., and has continued to be supported by the Templeton Family and the Psalm 103 Foundation ever since. Robert D. Kaplan is the Robert Strausz-Hupé Chair in Geopolitics at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He is the bestselling author of nineteen books on foreign affairs and travel translated into many languages, including The Good American, The Revenge of Geography, Asia’s Cauldron, Monsoon, The Coming Anarchy, and Balkan Ghosts. For three decades he reported on foreign affairs for The Atlantic. He was a member of the Pentagon’s Defense Policy Board and the U. S. Navy’s Executive Panel. Foreign Policy magazine twice named him one of the world’s “Top 100 Global Thinkers.”
