I arrived in the fashionable locale of Karuizawa. It's a place I've wandered around the outlet mall a few times before. So this time I'm staying there, which is quite a feat. However, upon closer inspection, I find that it's apparently part of the Gunma Empire, which makes me even more nervous. Arriving at Hotel Karuizawa 1130, I'm struck by the pyramid-like arrangement of the building. I'm stunned by its sturdy, fortress-like construction. Is this really a hotel?
