CARBÓN, INCREIBLE PROCESO✅ 2 métodos ANCESTRAL y BIOCHAR "hazlo tu mismo" PROCESO COMPLETO
Dear community of Ray's #Terregal, I'm sharing this video with you about how to make #charcoal using the ancestral method in an earth oven and the contemporary biochar method, for use in the garden, or as fuel, a heat source, compost, and much more. I hope you enjoy it. Blessings. Traditional Charcoal Makers Video: • CARBONEROS. COMO FABRICAR CARBON VEGETAL. Biochar with Jairo Restrepo starting at 40:30: • JAIRO RESTREPO, BIOCHAR, BIOCARBÓN, MICROO... Differences between doing it this way and just burning the wood in the open air: If you burn it in the open air, the Combustion with oxygen extracts almost all the energy because pyrolysis occurs, meaning the wood is decomposed and consumed by the fire. Although you can recover some charcoal, you'll only get about a sixth, and with very low energy content. A third will turn to ash, and the other third won't burn completely. You release excess carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and lose that heat energy. Finally, you can only use dry wood, which has already lost density. The charcoal will be brittle, lightweight, and of poor quality, as you'll see in the third example of quality at the end of the video. In these techniques, incomplete pyrolysis occurs, meaning the wood never ignites, only producing embers. These embers heat up to 500°C internally, causing all the water in the wood to evaporate. The wood burns very slowly, leaving no ash because ash requires complete pyrolysis. The slower the process, the more energy is conserved. Most of the emissions released into the environment are water vapor, some pyroligneous acid, minimal carbon dioxide, and a few tars and hydrocarbons. The wood used can be green; it doesn't matter and retains more density. In the end, there is no ash. Between 30% and 60% of the total wood used is recovered, depending on the technique and the type of wood. Almost 60% of its energy is retained, which can then be transferred to the soil or used to light the charcoal for cooking or other purposes. The charcoal is harder, heavier, and better shaped; its sound is mellow and not muffled. This charcoal, if placed on the ground, can last up to 100 years or more, but charcoal made with complete pyrolysis only lasts a few years. Okay, greetings and blessings.
