Dyson engineers throttle up the Whittle engine
Frank Whittle invented the jet engine in 1937. Nearly 80 years later there’s only one working original left in the world – and it’s living at Dyson's Malmesbury headquarters. On 21 April, James Dyson and Ian Whittle - Frank Whittle's son - were joined by Dyson engineers to throttle up the engine.
