Sound Transit | Partnering for exceptional project delivery
From a streetcar corridor in Tacoma to a groundbreaking light rail system over Lake Washington’s I-90 floating bridge, Hatch’s engineering is woven into the Puget Sound region. After our success with the T Line, @Sound Transit called on us again to modernize the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. Originally built for buses and trains, it needed a full overhaul to support low-floor light rail vehicles and improve accessibility. We led corrosion control, communications, rail signal, traction power, and vehicle commissioning, transforming legacy infrastructure into a future-ready system. From concept to testing, we remain Sound Transit’s trusted partner—connecting people, building communities, and delivering sustainable transit solutions. Explore our role on this transformational project.
