Somfy Wind Sensor Programming - step by step for your Retractable Awning.
Step #1: Unbox the Wind Sensor, lay everything out and follow along. Step #2: Open up the case so you can access the battery housing, sensitivity setting and programming button. To do that you will need a small flat head screw driver. Step #3: After you have opened your case, take a moment and look at the internals to get familiar. Step #4: It is very important to pay attention to the battery orientation. Step #5: Install your battery and double check the orientation. This is very easy to mess up and the Wind Sensor will not respond. You should see a little light come on and of after the batteries have been installed correctly. ***After you install your batteries, now you are ready to pair the Wireless Wind Sensor with the already programmed Somfy Motor, on your Retractable Awning. Make sure you have the remote control by your side, as you will need it or the next steps. Step #6: With the remote control in your hand, turn it over and press the small button, and hold it until your Retractable Awning jerks in and out. Your motor limits are now in copy mode. Steps #7: Now, press the small button on the Wind Sensor and hold it until the Retractable Awning jerks in and out. ***Congratulations! Your Wind Sensor is now synced to the Somfy Motor on your Retractable Awning. Step #8: Please make sure that your Wind Sensor sensitivity is set to #2. To do this just turn the arrow to desired number. This setting will automatically retract your awning in with consistent light winds shaking your Awning up and down. Setting it to any lower than #2 is okay, but it will retract in with very little wind motion. Step #9: With all the steps completed you can close the case back up and slide it on to it's bottom. Step #10: Time to mount your Wind Sensor. On your remote control press down and allow your Retractable to extend all the way out. A good location will be the front left or front right corners of your Retractable Awning. You can use the double sided tape and mount it on the front bar or the arms on either side. You can also use the small metal clips and screws to slide it under your front bar. Step #11: Now that your Wind Sensor is mounted, it is time to test it out., With the Retractable extended out, grab the arm closest to the Wind Sensor and shake it up and down - about a foot up and a foot down consistently. This motion should activate the Wind Sensor to retract the Awning in. Before you can program your Somfy Wireless Wind Sensor, make sure your Somfy Motor has already been programmed with correct inner and outer limits.
