Just incase you’re new to the channel, last year I did make a separate video breaking down the complete timeline for part 1, so if you’re looking for a refresher on everything than I recommend you start with that. For everyone else let’s get into Attack on Titan part 2, which kicks off with the Marlyeans invading Shiganshina. The main goal of this surprise operation was for them to quickly steal the founding titan, hence why Porco and Reiner both tried to eat Eren whenever they had a chance. On top of that you had hundreds of armed Marlyean soldiers entering the district, and their job was to wipe out the Scouts, thereby reducing the amount of protection that Eren had. For a while this gameplan worked pretty well, with the Attack Titan struggling to handle two titan shifters and an anti-titan canon at the same time. This struggle lead to Onyankopon begging Mikasa and the other prisoners for help and in the end Armin convinces them to do it. His sales pitch was that even though it looks like Eren betrayed them to join Zeke’s side, the reality is that Zeke’s plan to end the eldian race isn’t something their friend would ever agree to. For that reason, Armin’s theory is that Eren is only using Zeke to activate the founding titans powers and once he succeeds, he can trigger a small rumbling, which should scare their enemies away for at least the next 50 years. The gang then suit up and get ready to defend Eren but by the time they arrive he was already receiving backup from the Beast Titan. The last time we saw Zeke he’d blown himself and Levi to pieces with a thunderspear, but thanks to his royal blood privilege, this random pure titan rebuilt his body by sacrificing its own flesh. Meanwhile Levi wasn’t so lucky in that he lost one of his eyes and a couple fingers, however due to his Ackerman blood, he was at least durable enough to survive. If you remember back in part 1 of the final season Floch forced Hange to take them to Zeke’s location and when they finally got there in part 2, Hange escaped down the river with Levi’s body, as the yeagerists brought Zeke back to Shiganshina. The Beast titan then used his trademark attack to crush a chunk of Marlyean soldiers, airships and Reiner, clearing a direct path for Eren to reach him. The two brothers knew that if they made physical contact the founding titans power would be activate and so right now the aim of the Yeagerists was to make that happen, while Marley’s aim was to stop it no matter what. As things progress Zeke is nearly killed by Magath’s anti-canon, and although the shot wasn’t fatal, it put him in a position where he couldn’t defend Eren with rocks. This is what gave Reiner an opening to pin down the Attack Titan and so to save his brother, Zeke uses his scream to create a massive distraction. As we know, by this point there were hundreds of people in Shiganshina who’d been tricked into drinking his spinal fluid including Falco and Pixis, and by screaming he turned every last one of them into pure titans. In this chaotic situation, Falco’s titan initially tries to eat Reiner before turning his attention to Porco and by eating Galliard, he inherited the power of the Jaw Titan.
