THE MARKS OF GENUINE SPIRITUAL FRUIT

WEDNESDAY, 15TH JULY 2026 HOUR OF GLORY with Pst. Elisha Adefesobi Theme: WIND OF CHANGE FOR ALL-ROUND REST (Part 2) Opening Scripture "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." — James 4:6 The Call to Bear Fruit Luke 13:7 (KJV) "Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?" God is not merely looking for our presence; He is looking for our fruit. His desire is that every believer becomes productive in His Kingdom. A life that bears no fruit eventually loses its purpose. "Cut it down, for it has not been bearing fruit." Three Categories of People Before God Whenever people come into the presence of God, they generally fall into one of these three categories: Those who bear fruit. Those who bear curses because of their lifestyle. Those who have nothing to present before God. The question is: Which category do you belong to? What Does It Mean to Bear Fruit? Bearing fruit is not merely about giving birth, possessing wealth, or helping people financially. True fruitfulness is seen in the impact your life, character, and attitude have on others. It is living in such a way that God Himself can testify about your life. Your life should become a stream of revelation that draws others closer to Christ—not a stumbling block that pushes them away. Sadly, many believers become obstacles instead of blessings. Their words discourage rather than edify, and their actions weaken the faith of others. Our words carry power. They can either give life or bring destruction. Fruit Before God Is Different From Fruit Before Men John 15:1–2 "Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit." It is possible to appear fruitful before people while remaining unfruitful before God. Men may applaud your works, but God examines your heart. The believer who truly bears fruit continually grows closer to God because God prunes those He loves so they can become even more fruitful. You may faithfully observe every religious activity—attend church services, pray, fast, and serve—yet remain unknown to God because genuine spiritual fruit is absent. While others testify of God's mighty works in their lives, some only recount how many hours they spent in religious activities. God is not impressed by activity without intimacy. God Shows No Partiality God is impartial. He knows every heart and judges righteously. No one can deceive Him. He knows us better than we know ourselves. The Reward of Obedience Proverbs 13:13 "Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded." A person who rejects God's Word rejects God's direction. If God is not leading you, you cannot truly lead according to His standard of righteousness. When God commands your steps, He also defends your cause. Those who oppose the one whom God has sent place themselves in danger. Allow God to Lead You One of the greatest secrets to experiencing God's glory is complete surrender to His leadership. Only those who submit to Him can be led by Him. John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." The identity of a sheep is not merely hearing the Shepherd's voice—it is following it. A sheep submits to its shepherd. A goat follows its own will. Every believer must choose whether to live by God's voice or by personal desires. The Holy Spirit was given to guide us into all truth. His leadership is the pathway to peace, rest, and victory. The Grace for Righteousness There is a grace that satisfies the hungry soul with righteousness. However, that grace only rests upon those who genuinely hunger for God. Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." God fills those who long for Him—not those who are comfortable in compromise. Closing Charge True wisdom begins when we allow God's Word to correct us. If your pride has never been broken before God, you have not yet begun to walk in His wisdom. There may still be sinful desires within you that have not been crucified. Today, Jesus is calling you. Lay down every work of the flesh. Yield to the Holy Spirit. Bear fruit that glorifies God. Allow Him to lead your life, and you will experience His wind of change and enter into all-round rest. #ChristianMessages #BeBlessed #JesusChrist #Gospel #PElishaAdefesobi #SpiritualGrowth #Faith
