All-new 2024 Volkswagen ID.UNYX - Best Compact Coupe SUV | Chinese Cupra Tavascan Volkswagen has officially launched its pure electric coupe SUV, the ID.UNYX, in China. Priced between 28,900 and 34,400 USD, the vehicle is produced by Volkswagen Anhui. Buyers can select from three trims Pro, Ultra, Max, and two cruising range options: 621 km and 565 km. Built on Volkswagen's MEB platform, the new ID.UNYX is positioned as a compact SUV. It measures 4663 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1610 mm in height, with a 2766 mm wheelbase, and features a five-seater layout. The car has five exterior colors: Sunrise Gold, Awaking Grey, Dreamy White, Shadow Black, and Moonlight Silver. In terms of design, the new Volkswagen ID.UNYX stands out with a gold VW logo on a black background, prominently placed at the front under the curved, double-lipped hood. Enhancing its sporty and sleek appearance is the IQ. Light Matrix headlights, featuring LED strips that connect the headlights on both sides. The front grille of the new ID.UNYX is completely closed, with artificial air intakes on both sides. The lower part features a functional air intake, complemented by a black side skirt that enhances the car's sporty look. The sidelines of the all-new ID.UNYX are sharp, accompanied by black side door trims. The A-pillar and B-pillar are also in black, giving the roof a floating appearance. Insert-type door handles add a slightly rugged touch, along with black wheel arch edges and 20-inch black alloy wheels The rear of the ID.UNYX features a sloping coupe style with a large rear door with a built-in Duck Trail spoiler. A set of LED tail lights spans the full width below the spoiler, with a red brand logo centered between them. The design is completed by a large black rear bumper with an integrated rear diffuser. Luxury is highlighted with gold accents on the front console, side door panels, and steering wheel. The dashboard features a 5.3-inch LCD screen placed behind the flat-bottomed, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, which also sports a gold-colored logo, matching the exterior. At the center of the dashboard is a 15-inch, 2K resolution central control screen, freestanding and slightly angled towards the driver. It supports Apple CarPlay, Baidu CarLife, and Huawei HiCar connectivity. Additionally, the car is equipped with an AR-HUD screen that projects driving information onto the windshield. Interior features include two cup holders, a wireless smartphone charger on the center console, an AI voice response system, ambient lighting, and nine airbags. The front seats are electrically adjustable in 12 directions, while the rear seats in the mid and high-end trims come with foldable armrests. The new Volkswagen ID.UNYX coupe SUV also features the ID.S 5.0 OS, integrated with Volkswagen's IQ Drive safety suite, which includes Lane Change Assist, adaptive cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist, Intelligent Parking Assist, and Remote Parking Assist. The Volkswagen ID.UNYX offers two driving power options: a two-wheel drive with a single electric motor or a four-wheel drive with dual motors. The single motor version delivers 170 kW or228 horsepower, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. It features an 82.4 kWh ternary lithium battery, providing a range of up to 621 km on a full charge. The dual electric motor version has a combined power of 250 kW or 335 horsepower, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 160 km/h.
