Why Picking a Niche is a Lie

I'm done with having a niche. I tried to pick a style, an art medium, a type of content and all it did was suck the joy out of creating. While it's probably the smartest business strategy to monetize art, it's not worth it if it's unsustainable. Have you ever decided to stick to a certain niche or hobby? Did it work?
