Linen: why it wrinkles and more

Linen has a bad rap for wrinkling. This goes back to the fiber characteristics and how we wash and care for it. This video takes a fiber artist perspective on flax/linen. Flax is the raw fiber. Linen is the final product be it thread or fabric. How I care for linen in discussed. If you do another way, more power to you. I bought 184 inches length and 20” width of linen fabric. I washed and dried to get it to maximum shrinkage before using the fabric for a project. Not covered in the video was final measurements and shrinkage percentage Final length 170.5 inches. Final width 18 inches. Length shrank 7.337%. Width shrank 10%. Over all shrinkage: 16.6%. Why this latter number? Calculated square inches pre and post. And another reason, math and how many places out you do.
