I built a clamp jig for my Makita miter saw to safely cut small workpieces. The stock clamp can’t reach shorter pieces, so I added T-tracks and clamps to hold the material securely right next to the blade. Before this, I couldn’t cut aluminum pieces shorter than 200 mm, and they would end up as scrap. With this jig, I can significantly reduce material waste.
