In Saint-Genou, Indre, the Loire-Bretagne Water Agency funded the removal of the Chaintres weir to restore the ecological, fish, and sediment continuity of the Indre River. This project was part of the first territorial contract led by the Indre River Basin Management Syndicate (SABI 36). The filming took place in three phases: Summer 2020: original state September-October 2020: work Spring 2021: the river returns to its natural course Results of the work: Removal of a 1.15 m drop. Increased free flow of approximately 1 km of waterway classified as a Category 2 waterway. Restoration of the waterway's functionality, including habitat diversification. -Restored sediment transport to 100%.
