Cast of La Jolla Playhouse's "Side Show" Transformed with Makeup and Costumes
http://www.playbill.com/video "Side Show" tells the true story of Daisy and Violet Hilton, conjoined twins who followed a journey from the streets to stardom. The current La Jolla Playhouse production reimagines the Henry Krieger (music) and Bill Russell (book and lyrics) musical with major book revisions, four new songs, rewritten songs and the return of songs that were originally cut from the show. Here, La Jolla Playhouse costume shop manager Sue Makkoo gives a backstage tour as the cast of the show gets into their elaborate makeup and costumes, which transform them into their otherworldly characters. A co-production with the Kennedy Center, the show is slated for a June 2014 opening in Washington, D.C. Bill Condon, who won an Oscar for his adaptation of "Gods And Monsters" directs.
