Pandit (Dr.) Santosh Kumar Nahar is one of India's distinguished Hindustani classical violinists and a leading exponent of the Mishra Gharana (Bhagalpur Gharana). Known for his melodious tone, technical brilliance, and purity of raga presentation, he has earned recognition as a respected performer, educator, and administrator in the field of Indian classical music. Born in 1965 into a renowned family of traditional musicians, Dr. Nahar received his early musical training from his father and guru, Late Prof. Prahlad Prasad Mishra, an eminent musician and former Director of the Institute of Music, Patna. He further enriched his musical knowledge under the guidance of his uncles, brothers, and violin guru Shri T. M. Patnaik. Dr. Nahar is a Top Grade Violin Artist of Akashvani (All India Radio).
