CLEAN COAL (full film) The last days at the Onllwyn coal washery, Dulais valley, South Wales, UK.
Onlwyn coal washery is situated at the head of the Dulais Valley, South Wales, UK. It washes and processes the coal ready for distribution, extracted from the nearby Nant Helen open cast coal mine, situated on the hillside above the small village of Onllwyn. Documentary filmmaker, Roger Tiley spent the last year of production capturing the workforce as they faced closure. A long history of coal mining in the area would come to a close when the washery finishes production.
