I've always loved Enya, and I've been told my tone is kind of similar to hers, but I've never attempted one of her songs before. I'm so glad I did! For "Only Time," I tried to copy everything I heard in Enya's version, but using my voice only. No instruments. I do have to admit to pitch shifting though! This song wouldn't work without a bit of bass, so I'm singing it in my own octave and pitching it down with a combination of methods to create the right tone. (Pitch shifting a full octave can sound really awful if not done creatively!) Also, keeping in the style of Enya, I'm using way more reverb than I'm generally used to. Hopefully it's not overkill lol. I will make my vocal score available at a later date. Right now, all this is only in my head! ----------- I use ProTools as my DAW, and Final Cut Pro X for video.
