The training ship Amerigo Vespucci is universally considered one of the most beautiful sailing ships in the world. Few people know, however, that there was a ship almost identical to it: the Cristoforo Colombo. What happened to it? In this video, we recount the little-known story of the training ship Cristoforo Colombo, a vessel of the Italian Royal Navy and sister ship to the Amerigo Vespucci, retracing its fate after World War II and its transfer to the Soviet Union following the 1947 Peace Treaty.
