Soundtrack composed by Taran Stormes Martino Blue is one of the most versatile colours in a watercolour palette — and also one of the easiest to accumulate. I currently have four different blues in my palette… but lately I’ve been wondering whether I actually need them all. In this video I talk through what each blue brings to my painting, how they differ in temperature, granulation and mixing behaviour, and why certain blues feel indispensable while others overlap more than I’d like to admit. If you’ve ever found yourself collecting blues (they’re hard to resist!) or questioning whether your palette could be simplified, I hope this video helps you think more intentionally about your own colour choices. Let me know in the comments: if you had four blues, which one would you let go? 💙 #blue #colourpalette #watercolorillustration #easywatercolour #learntopaint #watercolour #watercolorforbeginners #watercolor #dewintonpaperco #harrietdewinton #paintingforbeginners #newbotanicalpainting #ayearofwatercolour #birdsbeesandblossoms #dewintonpapercowatercolour This is my copyrighted work and my tutorials are for educational purposes only.
