Today I bring you a magical experience from a town with deep indigenous roots: Mozonte, in Nueva Segovia. Here I explored Las Pilitas, a natural spa that captivates with its seven rock pools, where small waterfalls refresh not only the eyes, but also the soul! 🌺 I also discovered a colorful garden, full of flowers as diverse as they are colorful. I could say without exaggeration that it's the largest garden I've ever seen. This garden beautifies the central church of Mozonte, the birthplace of clay craftsmanship. 🚙 My pilgrimage began aboard a 4x4 truck, because only four-wheel-drive vehicles are allowed on part of the route. From there, Mother Nature gave us a 15-minute walk, surrounded by pure beauty. 💡 Traveler's tip: wear comfortable, sturdy shoes, and of course, water for the journey. 💧 The motivation to cross the river was clear: more than five natural pools of crystal-clear water awaited us. On this journey, we enjoyed the flora and fauna of the vast pine forest up close. Here, the sacuanjoche, our national flower, abounds, and the Guardabarranco, our winged symbol, flies proudly overhead. Upon returning to the center of Mozonte, I was struck by the talent flowing through the hands of its artisans. Here, clay comes alive: it is transformed into utilitarian and decorative pieces with a strong sense of ancestral identity. 🛍️ The typical Mozonte vases are so highly valued that they are sold throughout the country and abroad. 📍 Mozonte is located 234 kilometers from Managua. It is a small town, but gigantic in history and culture. Its ancient architecture stands out with gems like the San Pedro Apóstol parish church. From the top of the municipality, you can admire unique views of downtown Mozonte, Cerro Guásara, Cerro La Cruz, and all the panoramic views that make this place a must-see destination. 🍽️ And of course, I couldn't leave without trying its cuisine. Here, local businesses welcome you with exquisite food, made with traditional seasoning and lots of love. To top it all off, I'd like to tell you that some very old houses are still preserved, some dating back to 1927.
