We Drove the Entire American Revolution in 8 Days

We drove the entire American Revolution - 8 days, 8 states, from Boston to Yorktown. Starting at the Freedom Trail and ending at the surrender field where Cornwallis's army laid down its arms in October 1781, my dad and I traced the full arc of the war across the actual ground where it unfolded. We walked Lexington Battle Green where the first shots were fired, stood in the taverns where the war was planned, visited the churches where the arguments were made, crossed the frozen New Jersey battlefields where Washington's army came closest to collapse, and stood in the Philadelphia rooms where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were both brought into existence. Along the way we found the forts where outnumbered garrisons held on long enough to matter, the headquarters where Washington made his most consequential decisions, and the surrender field where the most powerful army in the world was forced to admit it had lost. Two hundred and fifty years of history, one unforgettable road trip. Let us know what you think in the comments.
