One of the most chilling incidents is that of Martha Cerwinski, a young woman who worked here during the brothel era. On July 4th, 1911, a rogue firework struck her neck. She bled out from a third-story balcony — her blood raining down on thousands gathered in the park below. Her spirit is still seen, staring from that same window… watching.
