(Reporter) Asan City has finalized the basic design for the "Gokgyocheon Tangjeong District Linkage Project," marking the official launch of the project. This project, in conjunction with the Geumgang River Basin Environmental Office's river environment improvement project, will gradually construct a 5.6km section from Bonggang Bridge to the confluence of the Onyang Stream by 2032. The city has set a goal of transforming the river from a water-control-focused area into a multi-cultural river where leisure, recreational sports, and the natural ecosystem coexist. The entire space will be characterized by four themes: play, communication, activity, and harmony. First, the play area will feature an X-game park and a pump track, creating recreational facilities for youth and families. The communication area will feature a wildflower garden, rose tunnel, and nighttime lighting, creating a walking and relaxation destination connecting the Ginkgo Tree Road and the Mediterranean Village. The activity area will include two new baseball fields, expanding the foundation for recreational sports. The harmony area will feature family-oriented waterfront leisure facilities, including a water park, a pet playground, and a children's playground.
