Don't Remove Your AC Before Watching This! | Safe Split AC Uninstallation Tips

In today's service video, we visited Sundarpada, Navalchar Avenue, to professionally uninstall a 1.5 Ton Carrier Split Air Conditioner. The customer requested that the AC be removed carefully because it will be transported to another location, where a different technician will carry out the installation. Whenever an AC is uninstalled for transportation, protecting the refrigeration system is extremely important. Before disconnecting the unit, the refrigerant should be safely stored in the outdoor unit using the proper pump-down procedure. After disconnecting the copper pipes, both pipe ends should be sealed immediately with dust caps or tightly wrapped with insulation tape or PVC tape. The indoor unit connections should also be covered to prevent dust, moisture, insects, or other contaminants from entering the system. The original shape and bending of the copper pipes should be maintained as much as possible. Avoid unnecessary bending, twisting, or flattening of the pipes, as this can restrict refrigerant flow and reduce cooling performance after reinstallation. Since the customer may transport or store the AC for several days before installation, proper sealing and protection are essential. These simple precautions help prevent moisture contamination and protect the compressor from future damage. At the new installation site, the technician should perform a complete vacuum process for approximately 30–35 minutes before releasing the refrigerant into the system. Vacuuming removes air and moisture from the pipes, improves cooling efficiency, increases compressor life, and ensures reliable long-term performance.
