Time for a Change…

It’s time for a new look on my 1986 Mazda RX7 FC project car! After running the same setup for a while, I decided to pull off my GTU / Turbo II style wing and trade it for a custom widebody “Bomex” style wing that a viewer had sitting around. This fiberglass RX7 wing might be a 1 of 1 since we’ve never seen another one like it online! Later in the video, I unbox and test out my brand new RC drift car — an R32 Skyline Sedan — that Jonathan sent in submail. Huge thank you for helping me start my RC drift journey! Mike and I take the R32 out for some fun before heading to the annual Smokes Bash at Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconsin. Smokes Bash was a special drift event to honor our friend Smokes who passed in July. We brought out the cars, sold merch, did some RC drifting, and hit the track. Mike drove his R34 Sedan, and I brought my FC RX7 out for its very first drift laps! The car only wanted to cooperate in first gear, manual steering was a workout, and my clutch kicks need some practice — but for my first drift day, it wasn’t too bad. After the event, I stopped by Jose’s black FC RX7 shell to grab some spare parts — doors, fenders, and headlights — to fix my dented panels. Back home, I got right to work replacing body panels and started peeling off the old green vinyl wrap.
