The Perfect Focal Length?

In photography, each focal length of lens has a unique visual signature. What is yours? How do you see the world? How do you communicate most effectively. The 50mm lens has taken more famous photographs than just about any other focal length. I'd argue it's nearly essential that any photographer be able to compose with and use a 50mm effectively but what about other focal lengths?
