President Tsai Ing-wen's #FreedomDemocracySustainabilityTour continues with a packed schedule on its second day of transit through New York! The sole purpose is to help Taiwan reach a wider audience! In the morning, she met with former Deputy Secretary of State Armitage for breakfast and attended the Taiwan-US Business Summit. In the afternoon, she participated in a seminar at Columbia University, followed by a welcome reception for US congressmen in the evening. The evening banquet for mainstream and overseas Taiwanese communities attracted over a thousand attendees! Seeing so many friends supporting Taiwan and overseas Taiwanese who have long fought for Taiwan's democracy, President Tsai believes that the will of the people has overcome the seemingly impossible, allowing Taiwan to emerge from the authoritarian era and become a democratic bastion in the Indo-Pacific. This is a vision for a better future, enabling Taiwan to build strong economic and trade ties with the world through open transformation and sustainable cooperation. For the past three years, we have been working diligently to protect Taiwan's security, promote economic transformation, and participate in the international arena. We will continue to cooperate with the United States to consolidate shared values. Therefore, receiving the Goddess of Democracy statue from the National Endowment for Democracy and Freedom House is of profound significance.
