LOS ANCARES.

The Ancares mountain range stretches between the province of León and the autonomous community of Galicia. A unique architecture has survived in these mountains: a series of circular ancestral dwellings made of stone walls, wood, and rye straw. These are the "pallozas," which can also be found in El Bierzo and in some Asturian valleys near this region. On this route, we visit "Piornedo," the village in Ancares, Lugo, which perhaps currently has the largest number of pallozas.
