Generally speaking, this is true, but nuances are important. Beyond Earth, we find many things that don't exist on Earth. For example, emptiness, or vacuum, is one example. On Earth, we expend considerable energy creating the vacuum needed by scientists and engineers, but in space, it's free and much better. On Earth, we build gigantic and very expensive particle accelerators, but from space, particles arrive naturally and with much greater energy. On Earth, we will never compress matter to the same density as celestial bodies. And we will never achieve magnetic fields like those in space. Yet physicists need all of this to study matter.
