As I listened to the village’s history, which is said to have originated from its old name 'Geolteo,' I was able to fully experience the deep mountain terrain and the climate of Geochang, with its large diurnal temperature range, to understand why Geochang’s famous apples are inevitably so sweet and delicious. Bridging the fresh flowers blooming under the blue sky and the pleasant mountain breeze, we finally entered the embrace of Geumgwibong Peak. Although it is an obscure mountain not widely known to many, so there were no ancient legends passed down, it was a very special time where PD Kim and Geumgwibong filled every step with new stories amidst the tranquil nature. Having chatted and shared stories, we finally arrived at the summit of Geumgwibong. True to its nature as a mountain of Geochang, the view was truly 'Geochang' (magnificent) and magnificent. I felt a surge of emotion as I gazed upon the traces of the ancient beacon towers that once signaled the nation's emergencies. However... Geumgwibong Peak also concealed the rugged nature characteristic of unnamed mountains. Even though I am a veteran PD Kim who has hiked countless mountains across the country, I ended up getting lost on the way down. I checked the map to find the path, but a series of treacherous trails followed, making it difficult to distinguish whether it was a hiking trail or not.
