SSH access is needed to take full control of your Home Assistant server. With SSH access you can execute bash script command on your Home Assistant server from your Windows or Linux PC or Mac. It makes it possible to install HACS and other custom integrations. This addon can be installed using supervisor. HACS is not needed to install this add-on.
