The President of Belarus made a working visit to the Shklov district of the Mogilev region. The head of state inspected the facilities of ASB-Agro Gorodets CJSC and heard a report on the progress of autumn fieldwork in the district, the region, and the country as a whole. He was also shown a new technology for special chemical treatment of agricultural crops. The President is paying special attention to the development of Shklov and the Shklov district, as they should become exemplary and model projects for replication in other regions of the country. This spring, Alexander Lukashenko visited the facilities of the district's largest enterprise, the Kupalovskoye holding company. In addition to specific tasks related to the holding company, instructions were given on comprehensive development, including the construction and reconstruction of a butter and feed mill. The first stop on the President's route was the machinery yard of ASB-Agro Gorodets CJSC. The President critically assessed what he saw, including the premises where vehicles, other agricultural equipment, and spare parts are stored, as well as the condition of the equipment itself. Alexander Lukashenko noted the poor management and lack of order, which, he said, negatively characterizes not only the work of the enterprise's management but also the shortcomings of the Shklov District administration and the Property Management Directorate, within which Gorodets is located. All this led to their de facto ruin of the enterprise, which, while not the worst, was certainly one of the worst. "It's sad, of course. This is the worst enterprise I've seen in the last two years," the President remarked. However, these words were more concerned with the organization of the work, with the banal mismanagement that should have been addressed long ago and brought to order. And this should have been done long ago, without waiting for the President's visit. Overall, Gorodets has potential for development. And now it's important for everyone to mobilize to rectify the situation. The President repeatedly emphasized this during his working visit, both in conversations with officials and with local residents and the enterprise's employees. Upon learning of the President's arrival, they gathered near the engine yard, hoping to speak with the Head of State. Alexander Lukashenko warmly welcomed everyone and recognized some of the people with whom he had once worked at Gorodets. In a frank conversation, the President revealed that he often recalls those times and even dreams about working at Gorodets, which is why he's long wanted to visit the place and see how things are going. "Somehow, it didn't work out last year, and it didn't work out in the first half of this year either. But now, I'm thinking, I'll fly from Moscow, land, and then I'll stop by and have a look. Maybe I won't be dreaming about it," Alexander Lukashenko said with a touch of humor. Continuing the conversation about the enterprise's problems and their causes, the President emphasized that, first and foremost, the team lacks discipline, starting with the head of the enterprise himself. "Discipline is important. You don't have discipline here today," the President said. "A manager must be strong-willed and persistent." The main reason for this, he said, is poor performance. In this regard, the President urged the local chain of command and the current young head of the enterprise to be more demanding of their employees. "The system needs to work: you're responsible for this, you're responsible for that. People need to be active," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "If there's no discipline, nothing will happen.
