The journey kicks off in Nußdorf right by the Danube River where the Danube Canal begins, leading you up toward the Kahlenberg. Rolling through the beautiful vineyards, you'll pass traditional Viennese wine taverns ("Heurige") offering amazing culinary delights and stunning panoramic views of Vienna early on. This custom route connects four of the region's most iconic historic lookout towers. A massive highlight: every single one of the 4 towers features an epic climb to the top deck, rewarding you with an unrestricted, spectacular 360-degree panoramic view! Conquer the climbs of the Stefaniewarte, the Habsburgwarte (the highest point in Vienna), the massive Jubiläumswarte, and finally the Rudolfswarte. 🔬 Special Tech-Highlight on the Habsburgwarte: The stone pillar on the top deck is the official fundamental benchmark point for the Austrian national survey, established in 1892. Today, you can use the official Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV) control plate to scan a QR code and test the exact GPS/GNSS accuracy of your own smartphone live on location! Along the way, explore the breathtaking Art Nouveau interior of Otto Wagner’s Church am Steinhof, cruise past the majestic Schloss Wilhelminenberg, and stop for a traditional Austrian glass of wine and food platter at the Weinbau Leitner vineyard. The route offers countless exciting singletracks for sports enthusiasts, while less experienced riders can easily bypass them on smooth forest roads. On the way toward the west, the GPX route follows a safe, easy meadow trail through the "Paradies" recreation area, passing right by the famous Ernst Fuchs Museum (Otto Wagner Villa). Note: A hidden, technically demanding bonus trail (Variant 2) with a steep, unsecured cliff drop right above the museum is shown exclusively at the end of the video for experienced riders, but is intentionally kept off the GPX data for safety. The grand finale leads you via flowing connection trails to the Rudolfswarte near Purkersdorf. On a clear day, enjoy an epic 50km+ long-distance view reaching from the Anninger transmitter tower to the Danube mountain gates in Bad Deutsch-Altenburg and Hainburg.
