West Texas Energy Transportation Challenges

Texas is having an oil boom and Odessa is at the center of it. Energy production exceeds infrastructure capacity, and pipelines are bottlenecked. Trucks are being used to carry oil to the coastal refineries, causing traffic congestion, road damage, and an increase in crashes. Working with our industry partners, TxDOT is finding solutions to the challenges we face and implementing solutions that make West Texas roadways safer.
