The Id, the Ego, and the Superego... What are these concepts for? How do they fit into Freud's first topography? Freud discovered the second topography in 1920 with these three new concepts, which offer a different perspective on the psychic apparatus. Today, these concepts are taught in psychology courses, but they aren't always easy to understand, especially when relating them to the first topography.
