R53 Mini Cooper S Adding Sound Deadening DIY

Going from my E39 to my R53, the biggest down-grade was the NVH level. The E39 was so much quieter at speed, and on long trips, it really made a big difference. While I will never be able to make the Mini as quiet, I wanted to do what I could to close the gap. Sound deadening is actually fairly expensive; so, I tried to find a middle ground between price and quality. The main purpose of the tar like material is to dampen vibrations of the metal to mitigate noise. So, while it is not necessary to cover every square inch, I wanted to do everything I could to make the car quieter. I even added some foam to the door cards. While it is still a relatively loud interior, it is much quieter now than it was before; I would say it was $100 well spent. Subscribe! Comment! Connect!
