YB Hannah Yeoh on Work-Life Practices
At an informal discussion with employers during the LIFE AT WORK 2018 Awards launch event, YB Hannah Yeoh, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, emphasised the importance of caring for working parents and children. "I truly believe families are the backbone of a nation. Malaysia is not alone in this conversation about creating family-focused workplaces. The government too recognises work-life practices as a way to future-proof our workforce and ensure our country’s competitiveness." A firm believer in the importance of caring for working parents, YB Hannah also went on to urge organisations to be creative when it comes to the implementation of work-life practices. She shares, "As we engage millennials and more young people with different expectations, I think we just have to be creative. We have to change how we make policies when we are dealing with a totally different generation."
