The Monongahela Incline Documentary (2021)
Pittsburgh's Monongahela Incline—the oldest continuously operating funicular in the United States. The Monongahela Incline was opened in 1870 on account of the industrial boom in Pittsburgh, increasing the opportunity for workers in Mt. Washington and the surrounding neighborhoods to commute to and from work. The incline revolutionized transportation in Pittsburgh and this historical landmark is still utilized by Pittsburgh Regional Transit (formerly known as Port Authority) to this day.
