Grumman E-2C Hawkeye US Navy 1/144 Revell 03945 Full Build Video | RWO Models

In this video I show you how to build Revell’s great little E-2C Hawkeye in 1/144 scale. The E-2C Hawkeye is a carrier-capable airborne early warning aircraft (AEW). It is powered by two turboprop engines and can easily be recognized by its large 24 foot (7.3 meters) rotating radar dome. The kit was originally introduced in 2004, this reboxed version was released in 2016. I had this model on my wish list for quite some time and was very excited when I finally got the kit this year. The parts quality however is not on the highest level, the clear parts in particular leave much to be desired. After all you can build a nice looking model out of this kit though. Even if it is pretty small there is a lot going on with the large radome, the characteristic tailplane, antenna wires (if you like) and the two large turboprop driven propellers. Unfortunately I made a big mistake I couldn’t fix: I placed the red warning decal that goes around the fuselage behind the cockpit area under the large intake whereas this should be on top of it. Also, the paint job is not as accurately done as I wanted. I decided to go for very limited weathering since these aircraft are well-maintained and cleaned. Let me know what you think of this build.
