The Retro Fighters Battle Dock is here, and it might be the best way to use your GameCube controllers on the Nintendo Switch 2. In this review, I take a close look at Retro Fighters’ new GameCube-themed dock for the Switch 2. It gives you full Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter functionality with a much better look and some very useful extras. I’ve been using it non-stop since it arrived, and it’s genuinely improved my Switch 2 experience for Smash Ultimate and the GameCube NSO app. Latency feels identical to Nintendo’s adapter, rumble works where it should, and the passthrough ports are a game-changer for bigger Smash sessions. The Battle Dock costs $40 and includes four magnetic faceplates.
