Zapłacili 300 000 € okupu. Syn już nie żył | Sprawa Krzysztofa Olewnika

On the night of October 26-27, 2001, 25-year-old Krzysztof Olewnik, the son of a well-known entrepreneur, disappeared from his home in Świerczynek, near Płock. He was held captive by his kidnappers for almost two years. His family paid a €300,000 ransom—but Krzysztof never returned. As it later turned out, he was already dead by the time the money was handed over. But that's not the end of the story. The Olewnik case is, above all, a story of how it could have been prevented many times: the ignored anonymous letter with the kidnappers' names, the hidden evidence, hundreds of pieces of evidence destroyed in a police basement, and three suspects who died in their cells before they could speak. The case was investigated by a parliamentary inquiry committee, and the European Court of Human Rights found that the Polish state had failed. In this episode, we take a step-by-step look at the entire case, relying solely on publicly available sources. ❗ If you liked this episode, please give it a thumbs up, leave a comment, and subscribe to the channel.
