PUNE TO MANGAON VIA TAMHINI GHAT : FULL BUS JOURNEY : MSRTC ORDINARY EXPRESS ST BUS CABIN RIDE Tamhini Ghat is a mountain passage located between Mulshi and Tamhini in Maharashtra, India. Situated on the crest of the Western Ghat mountain ranges, Tamhini Ghat is noted for its surroundings comprising scenic waterfalls, lakes and dense woods. The Tamhini road ghat cuts the Sahyadri range to join Mulshi to Tamhini and makes the route in Konkan from Pune. This ghat stretches almost 15 km. The entire stretch becomes a popular destination during the monsoons. There are state buses which ply through the ghat connecting Pune city with places on the Goa highway (NH17). Tamhini Ghat can be accessed from Mumbai via the Mumbai-Goa Highway by reaching Kolad and after crossing the bridge over Kundalika River, take the left turn that leads to Pune via the Mulshi Dam backwaters. Tamhini Ghat is the stretch between Kolad and these backwaters. The Mumbai Pune Expressway is India's first six-lane high-speed expressway, and it was built in 2002. Only four wheeled vehicles are allowed on it. This expressway has reduced travel time between Pune and Mumbai to a little over two hours. A ring road is planned around the city. Mangaon is a small town (and taluka) in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is located in the Raigad district, 80 kilometres (49.7 miles) from Alibaug headquarters, and 119 kilometres (73.9 miles) from the state capital of Mumbai, towards the Panjim side. Mangad fort lies in the Manjarwane Panchayat area, situated 15 km from the taluka market area of Nijampur. The fort consists of one main gate connected to a set of mountains. Nearby you can find the Kumbhe waterfall. Tirupati temple is also considered highly important and noteworthy place in Mangaon. There are 187 villages in Mangaon taluka, organized into 74 panchayats. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation abbreviated as (MSRTC, or simply ST), is the state run bus service of Maharashtra, India which serves routes to towns and cities within Maharashtra as well as to its adjoining states. MSRTC is operating a fleet of approximately 18,449 buses that ferry 6.7 million passengers daily. The Ordinary, Parivartan, Asiad and City Buses are built at MSRTC's in-house workshops at Dapodi, Aurangabad, and Nagpur on Ashok Leyland and TATA chassis. These workshops produce as many as 20,000 buses per year on average. The corporation has nine tyre retreading plants along with 32 divisional workshops. The Shivneri air conditioned bus service consists of Volvo 9400R buses and Scania Metrolink buses. The Shivshahi buses are air-conditioned luxury buses which are operated by MSRTC and some private contractors. In 2018, MSRTC added approximately a 1,000 special non-AC Vithai buses, which were introduced to ferry passengers to the pilgrim town of Pandharpur in Solapur district. They have a seating capacity of 45 seats and a similar design to that of 'Parivartan' buses. In 2019,the MSRTC introduced new non-air conditioned buses with beds and recliner chairs specially designed for long overnight routes. Extra facilities like reading lamp, night lamp, charging point, fan and two huge storage compartments have also been provided.
