KitKat's Last Ride at Seven Springs Lodge, she almost didn't make it! I had to walk her out

Hello and welcome to the Shy Ranch on the Road. On this trail today you will see where I had to dismount KitKat and walk her back to camp. I didn't care how long it took or how far it was I was not going to risk my best friends life, for any trail ride. KitKat was completely exhausted due to the heat, elevation, rocky trails, steep inclines and stress; she was played out, I have never seen this before but she would have given her life for me. She had taken enough and so had I, so we walked out. Our guide said it would be an easy 1/2 hour walk to our destination, but somehow our got off the trail. We are home now and KitKat is fine, and back to herself. I will have the vet out for a check up after the holiday. I think she was real close to collapsing from the elements but we will never know. Next trip I will do a lot more investigating of the trail sellection, and make sure I never put KitKat in that situation again.
